Hello, I’m Ekaterina.Hola, soy Ekaterina.
Jyoti Yoga is the name of my teaching project and the space I have created to share these practices.

My path to yoga began around the age of twenty-five, during a time when I felt lost and uncertain about the direction of my life.
I had left Russia in my early twenties and, after living in London for five years, eventually found my way to Barcelona. I did not yet know what my next step would be, but I felt a quiet and persistent calling to support others in a meaningful way.
At the time, I was struggling with insomnia, addictive patterns and a deep sense of disconnection from myself. I did not know how to address these difficulties through conventional approaches. Yoga arrived when I needed another way forward.
I immersed myself in physical practice and breathing techniques. Yoga opened many doors, not only through movement, but also by helping me become more present in my body and more attentive to my inner life.
In Barcelona, I found a beautiful community of practitioners. That sense of connection became an important part of my journey and soon led me towards teaching. I began by sharing the practice with friends, then started offering private classes and eventually joined a yoga studio, where I taught for almost six years. Over time, I also began guiding aspiring yoga teachers.
Throughout those years, I continued exploring different movement modalities and spiritual traditions. I studied Ayurveda, Indian philosophy and the Yoga Sutras, while remaining deeply committed to continuous study and practice.
Meditation also became an essential part of my path. I travelled to India and spent time in ashrams, immersing myself more fully in the contemplative and philosophical dimensions of yoga.
In recent years, my exploration has expanded to include Qigong and somatic movement. These approaches continue to shape my practice and my understanding of the body, introducing more fluid, circular and intuitive ways of moving.
Through this journey, I experienced significant changes in my own life. I developed healthier habits, found greater ease in my body and mind, and began to build a more attentive and compassionate relationship with myself. These changes made the value of consistent practice tangible and strengthened my desire to share it with others.
Working with students of different ages, backgrounds and physical abilities taught me that no single practice works equally well for every body. It also showed me that our needs change according to our health, energy and stage of life.
After many years of practising, studying and teaching, this understanding gradually developed into Move with Ease. The approach brings together yoga, Qigong, somatic movement, mobility, breath and meditation. Instead of following one fixed system, I draw from these different tools to create a practice that responds to what is needed in the present moment.
I have always had a highly sensitive nature. Over time, I have come to recognise this sensitivity as an important part of my teaching. It helps me listen carefully, notice subtle cues and adapt the practice with greater care.
Today, my work is centred on creating thoughtful and adaptable practices that cultivate awareness, strength, mobility and inner calm. Rather than asking the body to conform to a system, I allow the practice to evolve around the body, energy and needs that are present today.
